Stretch Island Fruit Co., makers of all-natural fruit strips and FruitaBü organic fruit snacks for kids, together with The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation (FTPF), an international nonprofit organization dedicated to planting edible fruit trees and plants to benefit communities and heal the earth, today announced the introduction of their joint program “Fruit Tree 101” at Dr. Ronald E. McNair Elementary School in Compton.
Special guest Ed Begley Jr., actor and environmentalist, participated in “Fruit Tree 101’s” Los Angeles planting in support of the program, which plants fruit tree orchards all across the U.S. in order to help educate local students about the importance of eating fruit and caring for the environment.
