Sea Cuisine: The Solution To Cooking Fish At Home For The Nervous Chef
I feel like I joined a cult… but without the crazies attached to it. I walked in not caring about frozen seafood and I walked out with my pupils dilated holding onto endless possibilities. I was sent an invite to attend last night’s event by my good friend Victoria (24/7 Victoria). Bill and I jumped at the chance to head into the city for a night out sans kids. We had two other events that night (will write about those in a bit) – so we were just about ready for anything.
Let me put out a little disclaimer. I don’t eat fish. Period. I’m not into it. I don’t like the smell of it. I never even taste it when Bill orders it from a restaurant. Not my thaaannnnggg. But last night, I decided to be a grown up and give everything they plated a shot. After all, if I was going to write about the product I should at least TRY it right?
Chef Owen, executive chef and culinary director for Sea Cuisine, headed the demonstration at The Institute of Culinary Education and created several dishes for us to try. We all watched as proved just how easy it was to make a great seafood dish at home. The sauce is frozen onto the product. So all you have to do is HEAT IT and everything is done for you. Do you understand what I am saying? It just can’t get any easier!! I got a few coupons in my gift bag so I’m going to Stop and Shop this week and will pick a few up to make a video demonstration.
Oh and did I mention NO FISH SMELL. That was another reason why I never wanted to cook fish at home. Who wants to deal with that stench? These products were cooked right in front of us and I smelt nothing.
