INO Mommy was invited to Pure Dark’s chocolate heaven where we tasted the new chocolate, created our own bars, and learned new recipes.
Pure Dark, located on 350 Bleecker st., is an adorable chocolate shop where you can choose the intensity, flavor, and size of your preference.
Pure Dark offers 3 intensity levels: Striking (60% cocoa), Serious (70% cocoa), and Stunning (80% cocoa). I’ve tried all the flavors and I expected Stunning to be bitter, but surprisingly it was still sweet and pleasant. Pure Dark also offers 5 different chocolate forms; Slabs (an inch thick bar with intense chocolate flavor which also comes with roasted and caramelized nibs), Bark (sheets of deep, dark chocolate with dried fruits and nuts), Rounds (bite-sized disks dusted with various flavors), Mixes (your own custom made blend of chocolate with fruits and nuts), and Nibs (separate or mixed nibs in a snacking package).
If I had to choose, I couldn’t! I’ve tried it all and it’s all special, delicious, and most importantly healthy.
