I typically see shows a few weeks after they air because my husband and I just don’t get around to our DVR as often as we should. Well, today was the first day that I saw Jamie Oliver’s ‘Food Revolution’. I was hysterically crying! The premise of the show (in case you haven’t seen it yet) is Jamie wants to help America rethink our eating habits. He chose to start in Huntington, WV because the town statistically is the most overweight in the country. But this is not their issue alone. Health concerns due to obesity are rising throughout the nation. I will not point fingers. We are all in this together.
Jamie needs a million people to sign his petition to change menu’s in schools across America. He has a long way to go and every bit counts! Right now, ‘Food Revolution’ has just under 100,000 signatures. So you can see that every bit will help. I signed it and it took all but 20 seconds.

The Revolution can always start in the home! Jamie offers a variety of recipes on his website to get us all walking a better path. From Parmesan Chicken to Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce – check it out here.
So why was I crying? Because a mother had realized what she was doing to her children. And we all know that she wasn’t trying to hurt her boys intentionally. She loves them, but she felt so bad about her choices (that we all make – again I’m not judging, I’m supporting) and she just broke down in front of Jamie. I cried for her and I cried with her. I know her battle has begun and I mentally am sending her positive encouragement. This is a show to tune into – seriously!
Good luck Jamie!! Good luck!
