Lori Goldstein, stylist extraordinaire, invited a few NYC bloggers to her apartment for a shindig that included personalized tips and a basketful of clothes. Need I say more? Lori has worked with Demi Moore, Anne Hathaway and Madonna, to name a few. She has also worked as a creative consultant for fashion houses like Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera and Nina Ricci. Lori launched a clothing line, Logo, with QVC in 2009 that focuses on stylish, gorgeous items at affordable prices. She recently launched a new T-Shirt collection with QVC and I love it! If you’re looking for basics that go with everything, you’ll love this new line.

We were encouraged to bring an item to the event. The item should be something that we love but don’t wear so that Lori could help us style it. Now, I love shopping. I’ve done quite a bit of it but I’m also a huge window-shopper so, if I decide to buy something, its usually because I love it and it fits. I usually don’t try things on but I’m pretty good at judging how something will fit me by looking at it. So I had do a bit of digging to find something that I hardly wear. I settled on a Calvin Klein denim, button-down dress with puffed sleeves and a ruffled hem. It fit like a night-gown. I’ve worn it once and decided I hated the ruffled hem.

When I arrived at Lori’s digs, she was in the middle of putting scissors to someone’s blouse. She styled each blogger with their item, dipping into the basket of fabulous clothes to complete the outfits. When my turn came around, I handed over my dress, a bit scared, honestly. Lori asked me about the dress, my personal style and what I loved about it. I quickly realized why she’s so well-loved, besides her obvious talent. She was personable and focused on styling my dress in such a way that I would want to wear it. In the end, she took scissors to my dress and made it into a shirt with one side longer than the other. She tucked it into my high-waisted skirt and draped a gold statement Logo necklace (LOVE!) over it. Gorgeous!! I loved it so much, I didn’t bother changing back. She was so right by cutting it! I don’t know why I didn’t think about it myself but it looks so much better as a shirt.
