Eryn Brinie’s global flagship store in Soho, NYC, was the exhibit space for Marco Walker’s latest work, “Americana”. The Eryn Brinie brand focuses on fine craftsmanship and searched for a photographer that exemplified a similar aesthetic, as they strive to encourage and recognize young talent. Student and alumni entries from schools like Parsons, Pratt and the Fashion Institute of Technology were received. Marco Walker was chosen as the inaugural recipient and a cocktail party was held in his honor at the store.
Marco Walker currently resides in California and gleaned inspiration for his exhibit from the movie industry. Old America, especially movies by David Lynch led him to focus on images that are dreamy and classically beautiful, reminiscent of an America that is begging for preservation, through imagery.
