LATB attended The Body Shop Autumn Trend and Skin Care event, with a sneak peek at what’s coming up for summer. Skincare expert, Molly Walsh, was on hand to do demonstrations of the products and walk us through their benefits. The Body Shop has a line called Nutriganics, that is especially formulated to address signs of aging. The line includes everything you need for skincare, including facial wash, toner and eye cream. Molly demonstrated the correct way to apply facial cream in the neck area, which is smoothing upwards from the neck to the chin. She also showed us how to dab on eye cream below the eyes so that the sensitive under-eye area isn’t irritated.

The Body Shop’s Vitamin C collection is formulated to help infuse the skin with much needed Vitamin C. The line includes a facial cleansing polish, a facial spritz so you can feel refreshed during the day, and a Skin Boost. I particularly love the Skin Boost because it is super light. Its chockful of Brazil nut oil and, of course, Vitamin C. This is perfect for revitalizing dull, listless skin.

Next up was the makeup. The Body Shop’s makeup artist, Chase Aston, came all the way from the UK to give us a preview of what’s coming up for summer. These products aren’t in stores yet but its only fair, since I got a peek, that you get one, too. My absolute favorite product is the Kajal Eyeliner. Its creamy and blends really well, by just smudging it. Chase loved using his fingers to apply the makeup but you can use tools for a more streamlined look. I like using my fingers because I can just wash my hands between colors, whereas with tools, you have to remember to get all the product out of the brush before applying a different color. The Kajal Eyeliner is available in a host of sexy colors, like black and green. Chase showed us a secret tip for highlighting brown eyes on darker skin women. Just line the bottom rim with green eyeliner! I always use black, which he says is great but not as subtly sexy as green. I tried it today and LOVED it! The Summer collection is hot! It includes eye shadow duos that make going from day to night really easy. There’s also tons of eye shadows that are super creamy and highly pigmented for look-at-me eyes. Another product I fell in love with was their Cheek and Face Powder in Berry. Its a dusty pink with gold accents that works great as blush. I debuted this today as well and it stood up for the entire day, giving me a slight flush. Its perfect for summer because looking overdone is so last season!
