Seeded Gift Paper: The Green Way To Wrap Presents

IMG_1723

Here’s a way to make use of every bit of a gift for a present that keeps on giving. Little Kay Gardens has come up with Flowering Seeded Gift Wrap. Its exactly what you’re thinking. The gift wrap contains tiny seeds pressed into it. You can use it as you would regular gift paper. The difference, though, is that this one is made from 100% recycled paper and doesn’t need to be thrown away. After unwrapping their present, you can encourage the receiver of your gift to plant the paper and, in a few days, they will have a beautiful plant.

You can even choose your seed. Some are Corn Poppy and Baby Snapdragon. Though this sounds very earthy, the wrapping is pretty. It’s a very textured paper and the seeds actually looks like natural imperfections in the paper, rather than seeds. Colors like pastel blue, lilac and pink are available.

If you’re thinking that you don’t have a green thumb, have no fear. All you need is soil and water. Just dig up a bit of soil, put the paper down, moisten so that it looks like the paper is melted, cover with dirt and water as you would any other plant. This is also a great way to teach kids about re-using.
