Yesterday I was invited to attend a press preview for several new Arnold Bread products with Food Network chef Claire Robinson and registered dietitian Christine Palumbo. I live in a ‘Sandwich Thins’ household. My husband has one a day for breakfast and my children usually munch on a roll for lunch. You can’t beat 100 calories and 11 grams of whole grains per serving right?

Well, Arnold Bread has a few new products that are launching and I am so excited! I love hot dogs. They are probably one of my favorite summer foods. Easy to make and easier to eat. HOWEVER, I always end up ripping the bottom and ends of the bun off because I don’t need that much bread. I rather use the calories on another hot dog or some sides.

This summer look out for Arnold and Oroweat Whole Wheat Fill ‘Ems! They are 100 calories, have 5 grams of fiber and 19 grams of whole grains per serving!!! Woot! Woot!

While we were there, Claire dared the group of editor’s to compete in a 5 Ingredient Challenge! We had to use another one of Arnold’s upcoming products – the Health-full 10 Grain Bread (which is 80 calories a full-size piece) to make our own sandwich masterpiece! I teamed up with my buddy Aly and off we went getting creative with the ingredients on hand.

This is what we came up with! Steak, avocado, roasted pepper, jack cheese and garlic aioli. YUM!  Even though we lost the competition, we had a blast making the dish.

And I just wanted to write a quick note about Claire – her show 5 Ingredient Fix is on the Food Network on Saturday afternoons. She was a HOOT! She is also the host of the ‘Food Network Challenge’ and was a lot of fun and very engaging. Wishing her the best in her career.
