Michael Angel showed his Spring/ Summer 2011 collection at NYFW this past week. The mood of the collection reminded me of a rainforest. The colors were a dreamy mix of bright tones with sheer beige over it. There was liberal use of this technique, with fabric that looked like the material used for a raincoat.
This season is all about the conservative woman and this collection was no different. The necklines were high and the hemlines were safely at a modest level, some of them being asymmetric. I loved the mix of bold and subtle colors, as well as the mix of fabrics. Heavily jeweled hems and jumpsuits were paired with creamy pastels. The models wore flat shoes and the hair was slicked back and away from the face.
The collection was beautiful and the craftsmanship is to be applauded. To see more Michael Angel, go to www.michaelangel.net.
