This weekend hubby and I went out East with about 12 of our friends for an overnight stay at Hotel Indigo. My friend’s family owns the hotel and they had us all out there to have a look. The kids got to decorate cookies with icing and sprinkles and have breakfast with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
I wasn’t too thrilled about Santa coming to town because I always go to Macy’s on 34th street for our annual picture. Whenever I see Santa hanging out at our local mall I make an effort to AVOID AVOID AVOID! Santa is so… available these days that it almost takes away some of the magic. Everywhere you turn – there he is!
When I was young, I used to look forward to that trip to Macy’s because THAT’S WHERE SANTA WAS. Nowadays – he’s even in the grocery store. I mean – come on now!
A week ago Bill and I went to the Mall to get Natalie some pants and Santa was ALREADY SET UP – this was before Thanksgiving. I almost lost it right there in front of him. I would never have taken the kids had I known WHO we would run into.
And now when we go to Santa Land at Macy’s next week, I’m going to tell the kids… Tell Santa what you want (again). UGH!!!
What do you think about the increase of Santa sightings? Is it part of the Christmas spirit? Or is it overkill? You obviously know my opinion. LOL

Thanks guys Re: Liam - I think so too at times. :) And I HATE all these Santas. It kills the special moment I want at Macys!

I've never been to the Macy's in NYC to see Santa, but it STILL holds a sentimental value for me. I grew up watching Miracle on 43rd Street - everything looked so magical.

Just wanted to tell you that Liam is starting to look more and more like you. Before, I thought he looked more like Bill.
I WISH we had some more santas/christmassy stuff around here. Haven't seen a "real" santa since I was a kid, I think. So sad. ;)

Sofie, I agree re: Liam!! It's his face shape and his smile. Funny how kids "morph", for lack of a better word, lol, and can look like both parents at different times.
