Helly Hansen for the Winter

For those of us who are freezing our touchus off in the East Coast, Helly Hansen has some warm clothes that are great if you’re tired of piling on the layers just to go pick up your newspaper. These two are my favorite items because I’ve been throwing them on over just a tank and feeling as warm and cozy as if I had on multiple layers.

W Norse Chunky Knit

This is the perfect boyfriend sweater for cold days in or out. With its generous shawl collar that can flip up for added coverage, this one falls well past the hip area. Its made of 100% lamb wool and comes in off-white and purple. This sweater is great for work but also works well with jeans and boots. Did I mention how super warm it is? I’ve worn it with just a tank underneath in 40 degree weather and it kept me warm. I also love the trendy design. Cozy, chunky knits are hugely in this season and this one ups the cool factor with a Nordic design. See more about it here.

W Embla Wool Hybrid Jacket

The W Embla Wool Hybrid Jacket is a surprise. It looks like a fall jacket but is really a winter jacket. Its lightweight and only has one layer, no lining. The main part of the jacket is made of wool while the top and sleeves are made of their trademarked Primaloft fabric. Primaloft fabric dries faster than down but is as warm and soft, as well as being wind resistant and breathable. Its also water resistant, which I didn’t believe. I didn’t want to wait until it rained so I poured some water on the wool part. The water just rolled right off and didn’t absorb into the fabric! I also didn’t believe it was warm at all because of how lightweight it is. I tried it out in 20 degree weather, venturing only to the corner store, for fear that I would end up freezing. It worked amazingly well! There’s also a hood with elastic so it stays close to the face, keeping the wind out. I wished the neck of the jacket was up to my nose, though, so that I could duck in from the cold but a good scarf pulled up to just below the eyes works well for that. I loved the asymmetric hemline and the flared style in the back. If you’re looking to make a serious fashion statement with your jacket this season, this one is for you. It comes in a smoky, cool gray.  Check it out here.

Norway at Epcot sells HH jackets and stuff and I LOVE them. Tiny little jacket with puffy coat warmness. These are adorable, too!
