Farah Angsana Fall 2011 Collection at NYFW
I’ve had the amazing opportunity to view Farah Angsana’s collections for four consecutive seasons and I can say there is never a season that disappoints in terms of detail and intricacy. The execution of her eveningwear is often flawless, no doubt as a result of Angsana’s bridal design roots.
Tim Gunn probably wouldn’t be happy to know that there was a touch of fur in this season’s collection. It’s not unusual for Farah Angsana to dabble into that controversial territory, but her primary focus is always delicate but complicated beauty. Her designs are often over-embellished, although most of the time in a good way. The short dresses remain very short, and the long gowns flow beautifully with the body which wears it.
The colors are bold and stunning, particularly the blues. The combination of tone and fabric, silk in particular, makes this collection as magnificent as it is. The line is diverse, creating a new appeal to each piece rather than repetition of the same theme. Overall, this was another very successful season for Farah Angsana.
