The Nicole Richie Interview That Never Was

Ah poo! You know when you get a great opportunity and you just can’t take it…

It’s so hard to shake this one off.

There are a few celebrities that I actually have a true affection for and they aren’t your typical Angelina / Jennifer types. I ADORE two people in Hollywood. Ok three – but I’ve met Jennifer Garner twice already so she’s off my list.

Are you ready for their names? You might think I’m crazy, but I’m OBSESSED with Rachel Zoe and Nicole Richie. OBSESSED! Like – real issues.  Last week I was offered an opportunity to meet Nicole and had to decline. I was offered a trip to LA (all expenses paid) and a sit down to chat with Nicole about what it means to be a working mom. CAN YOU STAND IT??

The one problem – it fell on the same day my daughter was having her school’s Mother’s Day party. I didn’t want to leave her without me on such a special day. It’s a MOTHER’S DAY party after all!!

So I said if the interview is on that day, I can’t do it. If it’s any other day I AM SO THERE! But of course… things just didn’t work out.

In ten years NATURALLY this won’t matter. For me, I feel like I made the right decision – but since it’s so new I still feel the sting of this bite. 🙂

Next time right?

  1. Great choice! While it would have been an awesome experience, it’s the experience with your daughter that you’ll cherish forever 🙂

  2. I’ve had to turn down some cool opps, like speaking at Mom 2.0 for the sake of my son. Sometimes being a mom comes first and that’s ok. Yes there will be a next time! Nicole Richie has to be impressed with that you chose to do the mom thing and will find a way to work with you another day. I know it!

  3. You absolutely made the right decision and I’m sure there’ll be a next time. Mothers day is as special for children as it is for mothers.

  4. Totally understand why you made the decision and it was right for yourself – you should try and rearrange the interview or i’ll do it for you 😛 haha. xo
