Every few months, I somehow find myself on a ga-billion email lists. It’s so annoying! Half of which I sign up for thinking I absolutely NEED to know about the store / product / service and the other half I’m placed on by PR companies trying to get me to write about their product. Yes, you read that correctly – people just place me on their lists. ALL YEAR LONG. Everyone from small mom & pop shops to BIG BRANDED companies.

The last week or so, I’ve been noticing that I’ve been spending a LOT of time deleting nonsense. I’ve signed up for every flash sale site known to man (and that’s about 15 or so in my book – most focus on NYC specific deals) and I never even CHECK THEM OUT. I just delete them on a daily basis. What a waste of time!!

Then there’s all these travel newsletter I got on from when I visited the NY Times Travel Show. It just all adds up. And I’ve just been taking it each morning – accounting it into my work plan.

WHY?

So, this morning – I unsubscribed (painlessly) from about 35 newsletters and plan on doing it every single day until there is only the most important items coming through.

I’m just so sick of the digital overload.

Do you ever do a virtual purge???
