I got a major schooling in the ways of Hot Rod Lightning McQueen from my 4 year old friend, Zeke, a few months ago. Apparently, this car is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I wanted to check it out myself, though. I mean, who better to judge the merits of a toy than me, right?
The newest thing out there for Hot Rod Lightning McQueen is RideMakerz Deluxe Custom Kit customizable cars. The kit comes with 22 parts and you can attach each piece by just snapping it on. There’s everything from tires, rims and spoilers. You can wake up one morning and snap on silver rims, wake up the next morning and change them out for black rims. I tried it out myself. Yes, I was thinking of Zeke and eventually he’ll get it but right now, its all about me and Hot Rod. I promise. I pulled all the parts out and tried out all the looks. Hot Rod Lightning McQueen is bright green and there are bright green, black and silver options for the car. The coolest thing about this car? I didn’t have to read the instructions. Because let’s face it. When you’re 4 and you just get a new car, who has time for instructions? It was so easy to understand and you get all these different looks for the car just by interchanging the parts. I was also expecting a tiny little car but its quite a good size. Its about as long as the area from my elbow to my fingertips. I admit it. I played with the car for quite some time. I’m sure Zeke will have more fun actually making it drive and all that technical stuff but I had fun designing and re-designing it.
These cars cost between $19.99 and $39.99. They’re available in Toys ‘R’ Us stores right now.
