Who Is Up For Some Great Advice?

I’m spending some time on Block Island and last night came across this little sign in a store while my husband was obsessing over Vineyard Vines. I read it in passing, thought to myself it was cute and then kept on walking. However, as I circled around the store, I kept thinking about the message.

“Don’t believe everything you think.”

We know that old saying – “Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.” It’s embedded in my DNA. Before I pass judgement, my little mind fairy repeats it to me to set me straight. But “don’t believe everything you think” is so much more powerful. Isn’t it?

We are our worst critics!!!!! Who can stop us in our tracks quicker than anyone else? OURSELVES.  That little evil troll that whispers all that negativity – he is the one that can ruin it all.

“Don’t believe everything you think”

  • I can’t do it.
  • I’m not good enough.
  • I’m not thin enough.
  • I’m not smart enough.
  • She’s better than me / prettier than me / >>>> fill in blank.
  • I’m not a good mom.
  • I’m not a good wife.
  • I’m not a good friend.

SHUT UP ALREADY!!

Don’t believe everything you think.

I.

Love.

This.

Though that was lovely and sorry to digress from the inspirational and positive message of this post, but I could really use some unrelated advice.

You should put together a BACK TO THE GRIND post on totes and bags alike for all of us losers who have to head back to the office and carry all sorts of junk.

I am wrecking my brain thinking about a new tote to buy that is not a Longchamp LePilage!

I don't know, just an advice suggestion :)

HELP!

Love, your COUSIN, -Veronica
