In the late 90s, when Bill and I were just dating, we took a vacation to Portland, Maine. We came across this small shop that was filled with unique finds. I got lost in there.
We didn’t have a lot of money, so I couldn’t buy everything I wanted, but I remember coming across this author. I still have the few books I purchased that day because when I read through his work I started to cry.
They were the most beautiful thoughts. I don’t know how many were available to purchase, but I read them ALL. And I must have looked like a fool because they really tugged at my soul. The most beautiful words….
This is his book. Those are his thoughts. I even remember the FONT he used. That’s how much he moved me. I am going to dig through my attic today to find out his name so I can pass it along.
It’s been about 12 years since this purchase, but when I saw this image it gave me goosebumps and my heartbeat elevated. It immediately took me to a different time. That day is still so vivid in my mind.
I think we stood in that store for hours and Bill didn’t complain – which is what made me love him more. While we are on the subject of love – I just wanted to post a few other images I found online. Credit is beneath each one.
(and this one I bought for Bill when we were dating – this is another one that made me cry when I first read it) Why am I so emotional today? GAWD!
