First Barbie Doll With Tattoos: Tokidoki

Did you hear that Barbie just got a little rough around the edges? Meet Tokidoki - the first Barbie to have tattoos. I have tattoos and my daughter is absolutely infatuated with them. WIll I purchase Tokidoki? I’m not so sure yet.

Curious to hear what you think about Barbie having tattoos? The price tag on this puppy is $50. Is Tokidoki worth it?

  • It’s cute..but just doesn’t seem like a fit for young girls who are playing with Barbies. No teenager is going to start playing with Barbies because she’s all cool with tattoos now. LOL. I dig the short and sassy pink hairdo, though. :)

  • I’m not a mother so I can’t speak from that point of view but as someone who is heavily tattooed (and used to draw tattoos on my Barbies with sharpie) I have to give the thumbs up.

  • if anyone ever wanted one…..here she is:)

I love this doll and if anyone is willing to buy a $50 collector’s doll for their little girl to play with that’s their deal. I, personally would not buy a $50 Barbie for my daughter. Maybe for me but not for my little girl. I don’t even have a problem with the tattoos; it’s sheer price!
If we can be inundated with images of supermodels and advertising with pictures of women in (nothing but) Victoria’s Secret underwear, we can surely not REALLY have an issue with a Barbie that is fully clothed and sports tattoos?!

  • I think its awesome to show barbie as different styles. Tattoos is a part of our culture and why shouldnt there be one. I would pay $50 for one, especially to give it to a little girl to play with. I think its acceptable that any child play with one just that $50 is alot for toy!

  • Tokidoki isnt a brand for kids, its for adults, its only recently that they made this barbie.

This is actually not the first Barbie with a tattoo. There was a “Butterfly Art” Barbie that had a butterfly tattoo on her stomach. She was pulled after parents complained. I want to say it was late 90′s early 2000′s
