Review: New Balance’s New Cardio Comfort Trainers

I have a secret: I absolutely HATE running. When I hit the gym, I make a beeline for the elliptical or the stationary bike, and New Balance has just given me a new excuse to stay off the treadmill: the Cardio Comfort Trainer.

The sneaker gurus at New Balance have unveiled their ultimate workout shoe for people like me whose gym time revolves around the elliptical, stationary bike and fitness classes. The Cardio Comfort 813 is designed specifically to relieve pressure on the feet during repetitive cardio workouts at the gym.

The secret behind the Cardio Comfort 813 is the 4-way stretch upper that lets your feet expand during your workout paired with the memory foam and compression-molded insert that provides cushioning and flexibility. Simply put, the 813 expands with your feet during your workout to keep you from experiencing the numbness you often feel after 45 minutes on the elliptical in standard running shoes.

I took the 813s for a test drive and I was amazed by how comfortable they were, and how great my feet felt throughout my workout. I didn’t experience any of the numbness I sometimes feel after a long time on the elliptical. Plus they are some of the cutest sneakers I have ever seen!

Best of all, these sneakers are super lightweight and smoosh down very flat making them the perfect sneakers to toss in your suitcase when you travel without taking up too much room or adding weight.

The comfort trainers aren’t the only hot new shoe New Balance has up its sleeve, New Balance has also introduced their newSKY shoe that is as great for the environment as it is for your feet. Made from 95% recycled PET plastic bottles (the equivalent of 8 plastic bottles), the newSKY is a super light weight shoe that is as comfortable as it is chic. Click here to learn more about the process that turned plastic bottles into the fabulous shoes pictured above.

New Balance’s Cardio Comfort 813 retails for $79.99 and the newSKY retails for $94.99 at www.newbalance.com or wherever fabulous shoes are sold.

Sample provided for review.
