Rock & Republic showed their collection for Kohl’s at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NY last night. The collection consisted of casual looks for both men and women. There was a liberal dose of jeans and tees for the youngster in all of us. There were also chains aplenty. They were used to adorn shirts and as earrings. The hemline was generally very short, in this collection. There were sequined pieces, paired with solids, for a toned down look. While the pants were skinny, I caught a few bootleg versions. I think the bootleg style is about to make a do-over. Tiny shorts with pumps was another look that really stood out for me. It’s a more chic combination than what we’ve gotten used to, which is shorts with flip flops. Rock & Republic kept the look from looking trashy by pairing the shorts with classic heels. If this look is attempted with anything else, I’m afraid it might cross the no-line.

In terms of accessories, platforms are still around for the weak-hearted of us. Paired with socks, it’s playful.

I’ve been loving the look of a long chain dropped down the back, as opposed to wearing it down the front. I was excited to see it here.

The collection from Rock & Republic exclusively at Kohl’s was very young. It screamed confidence and youth.
