Field Report: Rafael Cennamo Fall 2012 Fashion Show #MBFW #NYFW

This was my first show at Lincoln Center for this season and it was splendid!! Rafael Cennamo delivered a mix of edgy toughness with elegant fluidity. I love a bit of edge and sass so this was perfect for me. From the mesh panels that exposed slivers of skin to the sexy silhouettes, Rafael Cennamo‘s designs were razor sharp perfection. The colors I loved from his collection were red, teal, black and grey. I loved that he made grey elegant, with floor length dresses.

One of my fave grey dresses was liberally embellished around the waist. I also caught glimses of the classic silhouettes al la Mad Men. The cinched waist and flared skirt works on most body types. My favorite dress from this collection was this grey and black mesh dress. I love the futuristic folds at the front and the peek of sexy mesh at the sides. I caught sight of a zipper pull so I’m dying to find out how one would get in and out of this one.

I have to mention the hair. How did Rafael make the models’ hair grey and still manage to make it modern and chic? He teased it like there was no tomorrow and embellished with edgy crowns. These tiaras aren’t the stuff of beauty queens. These say ‘Don’t mess with me.’

I was also digging the cagey stilletos.

I just have to note that this was one of my easiest, most enjoyable show experiences ever. Crowd control was on point and the organization was perfection. Kudos to Rafael Cennamo for a strong collection of red-carpet worthy looks and a phenomenal presentation.
