Field Report: Joanna Mastroianni Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Show #NYFW #MBFW

Joanna Mastroianni presented a stunning collection of pieces that demonstrated that artistry can truly be in the details. From intricate caviar beading to faceted metals covered in leather, each of the pieces in this collection was truly a thing a beauty.

The Joanna Mastroianni Fall/Winter 2012 collection was inspired by Iris Apfel, a fashion icon whose stunning personal style has kept her a fixture in the front row at fashion week at the age of 90 and whose personal wardrobe was once the subject of a Costume Institute exhibit at the Met.

The Joanna Mastroianni collection was a sea of colors: magenta, jade green, cherry red and peacock blue. Feathers also abounded throughout the collection from chic black feathered cuffs to peacocks feathered gowns. The particular standouts of the collection were the pieces with white or jewel-toned gowns overlaid with delicate caviar beading that formed an elegant web creating a piece that was even more stunning than the sum of its parts.

Overall the Joanna Mastroianni show was a collection of stunning, exquisitely detailed pieces that did credit to the stunning style icon who inspired them.
