A MUST READ: A Discovery Of Witches

I’m not going to go into how much I didn’t like the last book I read, despite the mass hysteria over the trilogy. But… ok I really won’t. Let’s leave this thought where it is.

Moving on…

A friend of mine told me to read ‘A Discovery of Witches‘ and it seemed right up my alley. I’m a sucker for the paranormal and this title seemed to promise a fun ride. I started reading it a few days ago and cannot put it down. It is SUCH A GREAT READ. The story is well written, romantic, and pleasantly multifaceted. It took me a good 2 minutes to explain the storyline to my husband because I didn’t want to leave anything out.

I’m at about 85% according to my Kindle and I’ve started to slow down because I don’t want it to end!!!

There are moments where I find myself crying (which you know I HATE to do)  - but I don’t mind because I’m crying over something really beautiful. Those moments she has in her house with the envelope (I will not go into more because I don’t want to ruin anything) had me bawling. As a parent, I understood that I would do anything and everything to protect my children – no matter the consequences. Those scenes really struck a cord with me and I was pretty much convulsing on my couch. No, you don’t want to be near me when I start to cry. :)

Really, really great read. If you like witches, vampires and magic – this one is for you. Heck, even if you don’t like those things - A Discovery of Witches is for you!! :)
