Cop Returned A Wallet That Was Stolen From Me 2 Years Ago Last Night

Honestly, I think this is the craziest story but it is TRUE.

In 2009, my car was broken into along with about a dozen other cars on my block. They didn’t take much because we don’t keep anything of value in there. I think they walked away with some loose change and a wallet filled with membership cards. You know – Red Mango, Espirit, Blockbuster (ooh I should check that one to see if they rented movies and never returned them), etc.

We forgot about it all and moved on. I never even replaced all the cards.

Well, last night at around 8:30, a police officer rang my doorbell. I had no idea what was going on. But when I opened the door, I saw that he was holding my wallet. My long lost wallet – and it was FILLED with ALL my cards.

Now this is where the story gets a little crazy.

Turns out another car was broken into yesterday and MY WALLET WAS FOUND IN THAT CAR. WHAT? That makes no sense!! At first, I thought he was implying that I robbed the car and all I kept thinking was “how am I going to prove that I didn’t rob that car? No one is going to believe me that this wallet was stolen in 2009!”

But the cop said that he looked up my record and saw that my car was broken into – so the story made sense to him. I mean – as best as it could. I know it’s true and I still almost don’t believe it.

THIS IS BANANAS. But it actually happened and I’m not arrested – so it all ended up as it should.

I do love that the person who stole your wallet (possibly, unless the original thief sold it or something) had THEIR car broken into. Karma.
