No, I haven’t gotten bored yet of learning the ukulele. In fact, I think my new found love for music has inspired my children to really take their music lessons seriously. So, if anything – we are even more excited about the prospect (no matter how odd my choice). Partridge Family version 2 – here we come!!!

Well… not quite yet.

As I practice in my bedroom each night – I creep closer and closer to the realization that a musician I am not.

You know how they make blonde jokes – you can’t walk and chew gum at the same time? Well, I can’t play the ukulele and sing at the same time. My right hand, left hand and mouth DO NOT WORK TOGETHER. It is actually physically impossible for me to do all three together. AND I HAVE TRIED!

So, instead, I silently read the words of the song I am trying to learn in my mind and then focus on the chords as I play.  There goes my YouTube career! LOL!

I now have a new found appreciation for musicians who play instruments while singing!!! It’s freaking HARD!!!
