Covergirl’s Summer Beauty Themed Master Class

I attended Covergirl’s Summer Beauty themed Master Class with celebrity makeup artist, Jake Bailey. He’s done the faces of some of today’s hottest stars including Katy Perry. We each brought along a friend/model and followed along with him as he went through a Summer look from Covergirl.
The look Jake did was called Sultry Summer. We did foundation, powder, eyeshadow, blush and lipstick. For the foundation, we used Covergirl and Olay Tone Rehab foundation and Simply Ageless foundation. The Tone Rehab Foundation did double duty, because it is also a hydrating serum. It promises to improve the tone of skin over time.

TIP: Another way to apply your foundation is to rub it between your palms like lotion and apply it on to face. Then, you can blend in as you like. Jake does this to his own makeup when appearing on television.

On the cheeks, we used a Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach. This is a cream foundation. Jake said that the best way to apply makeup is with the fingers and he showed how to blend the blush on the apple of the cheek.

The eyes were my favorite. We used Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Black Fire to line the upper lid. Jake also spoke about lining the water line of the eyes, which is the line under the eyelashes. Then, we used Intense Shadow Blast in Brown Bling. I. AM. OBSESSED. WITH. THIS. It went on super creamy and blended really well. There’s an applicator brush that is perfect for quick applications. It dries on the eyes and stays put for hours. I actually tested this one myself and it lasted quite a while without creasing or smudging. I’m a mascara girl so I loved the Lash Blast 24 hr. Mascara in Very Black. Jake loves black mascara because it really makes the eyes pop.

For the lips, we used Blast Flipstick in Cheeky, which won an award at the CEW Awards earlier in the day! This has two sides of color so you can choose depending on your mood or blend two for a 3D look.

I had so much fun at the Covergirl Summer Beauty Themed Master Class. I may have been a bit heavy-handed on the makeup but I LOVED the eye makeup so much. What do you think?
