Daily Diary: A Day At The Long Island Children’s Museum
I’ve been pretty overwhelmed with work lately. This week has been particularly bad for the kids because they don’t have camp to occupy them in the AM. They’ve been VERY PATIENT with me and as a reward, I decided to take them to the Long Island Children’s Museum yesterday afternoon. I was so happy to see so many new exhibits!! The kids had a ball.
My cousin Sandra came along and we let Natalie and Liam go bananas. They raced around for hours. Natalie’s favorite exhibit was the pioneer cooking section. She walked around and handed out fake muffins to anyone who stepped foot near her stove. LOL
The music room is also another great place to visit. Even I got into it a bit. 🙂
Our absolute FAVORITE part was the outside water area. The kids got SOAKED – big lesson learned here. Next time, we are going in our bathing suits! Did you see the video of the evaporating water art we did? So fun!
And you know I levitated when I saw the Long Island Children Museum’s raised vegetable beds. AHHH! They were handing out carrots to everyone. I can’t wait until my garden grows. I kept telling this kids that THIS is what our garden will look like. They didn’t believe me. : )
