Ann Taylor Loft Fall 2012 Collection

I’ve been a devoted follower of Loft for a long time. Early on, the line was merely an offshoot of the Ann Taylor brand, designed to add weekend wear to that woman’s work day wardrobe. The brand has blossomed in the last few years, differentiating itself from its casual basics vibe of the past and featuring unique pieces at a price. But what I saw in the preview of the Loft Fall 2012 line is a whole new game for them.

I own a lot of pieces from Loft – including clothes and accessories – and I always get compliments on them. Nearly every piece in this collection is compliment worthy – the standouts feature mixed textures: sequins with knits and feathers complimenting stripes. My favorite looks are these two from the “Deco” girl capsule:

The collection also sang with great ensembles that boasted color on top of bright color. Clearly as Loft sees it, the colored pant trend is here to stay for Fall 2012.

And doing what I think Loft does best, accessories, the Fall 2012 collection also includes show-stopping shoes, bracelets and necklaces.

The most striking item of the night was the feathered Art Deco necklace in the picture below. Now I am not sure if this is the least fantastic or the most fantastic necklace I have ever seen (according to the poll I took at my office earlier, definitely the latter), but any fashion item that elicits this sort of simultaneous reaction is doing exactly what it should do and doing it exceptionally well.
