Recently I “discovered” two amazing young designers when I visited them as they displayed their Holiday 2012 collections at Garment Center styling one-stop-shop, Caravan Styling Studio. Caravan promotes awareness about the flailing Garment Center in Manhattan by serving as a “wardrobing studio” for celebrities and special clients, in turn promoting the local, emerging designers whose collections are featured at Caravan.
Two of these designers are Dana-Maxx Pomerantz of Dana-Maxx and Marti Horwitz of Marti.
Pictured below is Dana-Maxx (that’s her whole first name!) with one of my favorite looks from her Holiday 2012 collection.
I thought all of her pieces with the gold sequin encrusted sleeves (including the coat pictured below) were fabulous.
And topping it all off was the show-stopping fur-sleeved coat. A must-have!

I was also impressed by the Marti Holiday 2012 collection. I snapped a photo of the designer Marti Horwitz wearing and holding her awesome washed leather jackets.
She also had a few great pieces that rocked the sequin look.
Another highlight of Marti‘s Holiday 2012 collection was her newest foray into jewelry.
Marti doesn’t just cast skulls into cool jewelry, she also hand paints and bejewels them into works of art. The skulls have been featured in the window displays at Saks Fifth Avenue. Check them out on her website at www.marticompany.com.
