My Top Five Maternity Must Haves: Week 16

So… I’m getting to the point where even my pajamas aren’t properly fitting me anymore. I’ve been sleeping in little nightgowns for the last few months. Everything pops out if I try to put one of those on these days. Obviously that defeats the purpose. Major changes have been made in the wardrobe department – specifically the maternity loungewear department. I’ll be 16 weeks tomorrow – so I know I have a long way to go. But I thought I’d make a list anyway.

Here’s My Top Five Maternity Must Haves For Week 16:

I am living and dying in these Belly Bandit Mini B.D.A. pants. My sweatpants / yoga pants were just too tight for me and I had to upgrade to maternity loungewear. Awesome sauce! They are super casual, comfortable, and I can run around in them all day without feeling any pressure on the lower part of my belly. A must own.

Bra upgrade? Yes… absolutely necessary. I am a big fan of the demi bra normally, but now that I’ve grown to a size D my old bras give me NO coverage. I literally POP OUT of them. So, I had to upgrade and opted for a few full coverage options from Bravado. Makes a world of a difference!

You forget. You forget all the little things about being pregnant. You know… like not being able to sleep. Constantly being uncomfortable. Being forced to sleep on  your left side even though you always sleep on your back. UGH! You need as much help as possible – so I bought a pregnancy pillow and am so happy I did. Thank GOODNESS we upgraded to a king size bed this year. I don’t know what I would have done if we still had that queen. I mean- how did my old pregnancy pillow FIT when both of us were in the bed the last two times?? LOL!

Maternity leggings. YES!!! I can’t stand the added pressure my regular leggings lend to my growing belly. For $20 each, I snagged three pairs of black stretch pants and pair them with over-sized sweaters and tanks. There’s no need to spend a ton of money on maternity clothes these days. Throw on a summer scarf and you have a fab little outfit! 🙂

Last but not least – I’ve raided my husband’s undershirt drawer- in true Sweeney pregnancy tradition. Yes, it’s true. He absolutely HATES me because that leaves him with less Hanes undershirts for the week – but I have no choice! Truly! I need to feel comfortable when I am home. That is numero uno in my book.

So, that’s where I am at the moment. I might do this once a week if enough change occurs in my life. I know a few of my readers left comments saying they were pregnant (and around the same week). Do you have any item to add to this list? Would love to get some fresh ideas!
