Sometimes You Just Need A Sock To Have Fun

Honestly – I’m going to sound like my grandfather. But… (yes, I’m going there) when I was younger, I didn’t have a ba-billion toys in my basement like my children do. We had to get creative and we had to get creative on a daily basis. Sure, I had some fun toys. I’m not saying I was deprived! But I also had empty food boxes that I used to use when I pretended I was a grocery store owner. And yes, I had sock puppets as well.

The kids were watching television yesterday afternoon and one of the cartoons showed the characters making sock puppets. Natalie and Liam immediately went to town and it entertained them for quite some time.

It doesn’t have to be pricey. It just have to be fun.

Next time your kids start complaining that they have nothing to do – hand them a marker and a pair of socks and see where their imagination takes them. :)
