I think I cried a little after reading this news. Starbucks is ready to do for tea what it has done for coffee. We all know that Starbucks coffee has become ingrained into our society. You can’t walk a BLOCK in Manhattan without seeing their famous logo. Now the beverage giant has decided to take over a new type of drink – TEA.
TEA!!!!!!!!!!! I love TEA!!! 🙂
Starbucks snagged Teavana Holdings for a whopping $620 million IN CASH. You know… cause that’s how they roll.
Starbucks Chief Executive Howard Schultz had this to say about the company’s new direction:
“It’s the second most consumed beverage in the world after water,” Mr. Schultz said Wednesday in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “We will do for tea what we did for coffee.”
Does your mall have a Teavana? Ours does and we love it! Whenever we are near the shop, we make sure to sample their current flavors and grab a drink or two for the day. We even brew their leaves at home.
But Starbucks doesn’t want to just stick to the mall scenario. They are planning to roll out stores all over the country. YEAH!!!!!!!
