A few months ago, my husband and I swapped out our Queen mattress for a King size iComfort mattress with an adjustable base. It was very exciting to be able to have all that extra ROOM and to have the ability to raise different sides of our bed. Our children most certainly get a kick out of it all.
But then life happened and I was placed on strict bed rest which meant that I would be stuck in bed for about 18 weeks straight. You have to understand something – I don’t leave my bed. 24 hours a day. The only time I get up is to go to the bathroom and to shower a few times a week. I’m one stop away from being hospitalized so I don’t take chances with moving around the house.
This Serta bed has been a lifesaver. A LIFESAVER. There isn’t a day where I don’t mention to Bill how lucky we are that we made the switch when we did. My back doesn’t hurt DESPITE being in bed ALL DAY AND NIGHT. An old mattress would not have been so kind.
Now, 80% of the time I have to be laying on one of my sides. But I am allowed to sit up for meals. Whenever it is time to eat, I just grab my remote and raise the back of my head. There’s no fussing around. There’s no adding additional pressure to my body because I am trying to lift myself. The bed does it for me. Again – there’s not a meal that goes by where I don’t think of this blessing.
When I gave birth to Natalie I had a c-section and when I had Liam I opted for a V-BAC. HOWEVER, my doctor isn’t sure which way I will go with baby number three. It all depends on how my scar tissue is doing. IF I have to have another c-section, this iComfort mattress will become a life saver once again. If you had abdominal surgery before YOU KNOW HOW MUCH IT HURTS TO GET UP from bed. This adjustable base will ease that struggle as well.
I am so so so so so so so thankful and happy that we have this Serta mattress! When my friends come over to visit, they all climb into bed with me and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM walks away complimenting how comfortable this mattress is. For these reasons and so much more, I want to put this one on your radar.
