I was excited to attend the first Desigual runway show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The collection is always colorful, playful and full of life. The Spring 2014 line was no exception.
As the show started, the models sashayed down the runway, smiling and flirting with the audience. The looks epitomized the brand’s motto, La Vida es Chula, (Life is Cool). The influence of Christian Lacroix, (who collaborated on the collection), was seen throughout the show. Every look was bold and bright, and patterns were the story of the day. Alek Wek, looked to die for in a wide leg pant with matching tee. It flowed, as she danced and winked at the throng of photographers. The many graphic black and white prints offered a refreshing balance against the sea of color.
It was hard to pick a favorite, with so many feminine and flirty dresses to choose from. The final look, a geo print halter dress with red cape ended the show in dramatic fashion.
Alas, we had to come back from our fantasy trip to the Mediterranean all too soon.
