Field Report: Reem Acra Spring 2014 Fashion Show #nyfw #mbfw
Reem Acra’s Spring 2014 collection was inspired by the glamorous energy of the nightlife, as per his show notes. The Reem Acra woman seamlessly transitions from day to night and the looks on the runway are bound to be stalwarts in her wardrobe. Never have I seen houndstooth used in a flirty, sexy manner. Done in sheer fabrics and juxtaposed through size, these looks will have you re-thinking houndstooth for the office.
The Reem Acra woman isn’t afraid of showing skin and for Spring 2014, she is ready for the world. From armhole to hemline, stretched slits provided a sexy silhouette with the rest of the outfits extending to the ankle to maintain that chicness the line is known for. One of my favorite looks was a floor-length gown with flirty cut-outs done in black.
The silhouette for Spring 2014 appears to be skin-tight. Think second skin gowns that show every bump and curve. The gowns were cut on the bias to fall elegantly on the body and shift in place with every movement. The Reem Acra woman is ready for Miami in colors like gold and black. Yes, there was a floor-length gold gown. Yes, it hit the right spot. This Reem Acra signature was used in just the right dose to keep things dramatic.
Reem Acra’s Spring 2014 collection was a beautiful group of dresses and items that sang Miami glamour and night-time excitement. I can’t wait to see some of these on the red carpet.
