Adventure Time, Ben 10, Regular Show, and Earth Defense Force 2025 Video Games Coming For The Holiday Season
I was lucky enough to attend the 2013 holiday preview for D3Publisher at Southern Hospitality BBQ in NYC recently. D3Publisher and Cartoon Network Enterprises is set to release three new video games this upcoming holiday season based on the most popular Cartoon Network animated shows Adventure Time, Ben 10, and for the first time The Regular Show. They will also be releasing Earth Defense Force 2025 in early 2014.
Before we get into the games…check out the venue! Great spot, perfect for the event…great BBQ. All good, but BEST FRIED CHICKEN EVER…no really…
Now, let’s get back to business! And let me just say…my kids will go Bananas when these games come out. They love, love, love all of the shows. Plus, the games are a lot of fun…I can attest to that. They stay true to the themes of the shows, which are great, but they are also great on their own. I would think they would be almost as cool if we didn’t love the shows so much…but loving the shows always helps.
The all-new action game Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW! will be available for the first time ever on the Wii U™ system from Nintendo, the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and Windows PC, as well as a return to the Nintendo 3DS™. The game features a new storyline as well as the very cool feature of including the voices of the show’s most popular characters. Players will have to save the Candy Kingdom by exploring the mysteries surrounding a massive Secret Royal Dungeon deep below the Land of Ooo. Select from an assortment of fan-favorite characters from the show, including Finn, Jake, Marceline, Cinnamon Bun, and more, and team up with your friends in four-player co-operative multiplayer as the Adventure Time world comes to life.
If that wasn’t cool enough…for the first time, Regular Show is coming to bit-land! Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby In 8-Bit Land brings the animated comedy EXCLUSIVELY to Nintendo 3DS. Regular Show is the Cartoon Network series starring Mordecai and Rigby and their adventures as groundskeepers of the local park. When Mordecai and Rigby get transported into an ‘eggscellent’ journey into their favorite video games, they’ll have to use their unique abilities to escape and get home.
In Ben 10 Omniverse 2, players will be able to control Ben Tennyson in an all new adventure set in the Ben 10 universe as Ben battles a new foe, the Incurseans. Ben will face a load of new challenges forcing players to make every move count while you race against the clock tying to get home. Ben 10 Omniverse 2 will be available for the Wii U system, the Wii™ system, the Nintendo 3DS, Xbox 360, and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.
Finally, Earth Defense Force 2025 will be hitting store shelves early 2014 for Xbox 360 and PS3. This Japanese import takes into account all of your favorite, campy, giant-crazy-monster (think Godzilla) and turns it into a fun video game. Earth is overrun by aliens who bring a few horrible creatures along with them – massive ants, oversized spiders, enormous bees etc. So it’s up to you to blast them back into space? For the first time in the series, you can be any of the four soldiers – the Ranger, Wing Diver, Air Raider and Fencer. Each soldier has multiple armor powerups, and you can stockpile your arsenal with hundreds of deadly, upgradeable weapons. Dozens of all-new missions, destructible environments and massive swarms of aliens kick up the shooter action, giving you more power to exterminate your foes.
