Cheers! The Garden City Hotel just opened up a brand new steakhouse and MAN OH MAN is it worth a visit. Bill and I had the wonderful pleasure of attending the press preview last week (see what I wore here) and he is STILL talking about his meal. I can’t blame him because I was just as blown away. If you live on Long Island or if you don’t mind taking a quick commute out from Manhattan, check your schedule and grab a couple of friends. You are going to want to share everything that Polo Steakhouse has to offer.
As a Garden City resident, I have had the pleasure of spending many Sunday afternoons enjoying brunch with my family at the hotel. So, when I walked into Polo Steakhouse I was SO SURPRISED to see how different the ambiance was – and for the better. It was everything you wanted from a chic NYC eatery combined with all that is traditional and classic and alluring from the Garden City Hotel. No detail was missed.
And while the atmosphere is absolutely important, it really is all about the meal when it comes down to it, right? We had a LOT of food to test out and I made sure I had a bite of everything. I mean…it’s my JOB after all. LOL!! From tuna tartare that the entire group simply raved about to American Classics like four-cheese macaroni and cheese and Iceberg lettuce with blue cheese dressing — one dish outdid the last.
But the main course was the absolute show stopper.
USDA prime, dry aged for 28 days, and sourced from the best purveyor in the country, this steak is as good as it looks. Simply put – the Polo Steakhouse knocked it out the park. I mean… COME ON! Everyone was flipping out – especially Bill. That boy loves a good steak…and this was a good steak.
We’ve already asked a few friends to get sitters so we can return. It was THAT GOOD. Date night is coming together as we speak. Garden City needed a great steak house for a REALLY LONG TIME – and thankfully we FINALLY got one!
End result – the Ferrari red leather chairs, the chic decor and the amazing food will satisfy everyone in your party. And guess what? You can enjoy all of this without the “men’s club” atmosphere that traditional steakhouses boast. The Polo Steakhouse is just perfect for date night, for ladies’ night out, for family celebrations, and more.
