A Charlie Brown Christmas (Insert Sad Trombone Here)

This is my Christmas tree. This has been my Christmas tree for at least a week and a half now. Over the weekend, we bought the light gun which apparently will help figure out WHICH light is causing the entire section to go out.

But we have to actually open the package and USE it in order to fix the problem, right?

That’s where we fail in the Sweeney family. The actual execution of the plan. It will just sit there on our kitchen counter unopened and we will turn on our Christmas tree every night and my husband won’t be affected at all. THIS picture above is simply not an issue for him.

Same thing with lightbulbs. A lightbulb in the bathroom could be out for WEEKS before he actually changes it.

I see a pattern…. he doesn’t care about lights. LOL!

I’m giving him until this weekend and then I’m just going to do it but I seriously feel like this fall under the man category. After all, I’ve been dealing with all the school Christmas to-do lists and the buying / wrapping presents etc.  I have to draw the line somewhere, right?

I’m not a betting woman, but I have a feeling that I will be fixing this tree on Saturday.

I would love to show you my completed basement too — it’s all done! Ready to rock and roll thanks to Easy Closets. But there’s a section of papers that Bill has to go through and shred. That was his assignment… from a month ago. It’s still all there. Just waiting for him to attack it. Like I said. We are good with making the plan – just not executing it!!

Merry Christmas!!!! 🙂

  1. My husband is the same way – there’s just something with men! Changing lightbulbs, the toilet paper roll and picking up socks doesn’t seem to land on their list of priorities:) The light fixer pro gun is so simple! Takes like two minutes to fix the lights – just pop out one of the lights in the section that is out – insert the gun and pull the trigger a few times – ( the light that is out will blink). I fixed my pre-lit tree with it a few years back in like 5 minutes.

I hope you and your family have a happy holiday!
