8 kids in all – you’d think it would be insane???? But it wasn’t. It was super easy!! Our weekend playdates are always a breeze. Bill and I hit the road nice and early Saturday morning and made the trek over to Rhode Island to spend three days with the McClellands. Audrey and I had some work to do and the kids had some catching up to work on.
We exchanged Christmas presents first and Caleb got his very first laptop!! Can you stand it!? I then took Audrey food shopping and taught her one of my favorite dishes. She then attempted to teach me how to run on a treadmill. Notice how there are no pictures of the latter. 🙂
The kids are all Minecraft F-A-N-A-T-I-C-S. So, when I tell you that they played like it was their job… I’m not kidding. It was CRAZY. But they were having SO MUCH FUN that we didn’t want to stop them. We went out for dinner each night and every single time we walked into a restaurant – people would just stare. 8 kids? 2 moms? WHAT??? So confusing? THE LOOKS WE GOT. I swear — it was comical. People were frantically searching for a third mom. But they just couldn’t find out and it would shock them.
A visit to the McClelland house is always good for the soul. I WISH Audrey lived closer to me. I really do. But I understand her life is in Rhode Island and it’s not such an easy request. BUT BOY IF I HAD A GENIE IN A BOTTLE….
And honestly – if you missed our sake filled “End of the Year” holiday party — you need to check it out here.
