Vivien Ramsay presented her Fall 2014 collection at a presentation during NYFW to a crowd of art-appreciative fashion folk. Guests mingled in a reception while models sipped in wine and blended into the room. The party then carried over to a gallery space while models sat, chatting with each other on well crafted chairs. The Vivien Ramsay woman is a little obsessed with lingerie and military uniforms. Revealing and artistic, the Vivien Ramsay look is tough, earthy and a tad punk. Rumor was that all the items in this collection were dyed with natural elements like ginger and other roots.
This collection was a small group of looks that focused on highlighting the female body in an awkward, punk manner. A silk onsey was paired with a cropped knit cardigan. Another knit full length dress that revealed the model’s underwear was paired with a grey long cardigan and black boots.
Matching pieces are a major trend for Fall. Vivien Ramsay incorporated this with a plaid woolly jacket and a matching plaid skirt over silk leggings.
A long crushed velvet dress was worn with black boots which played nicely against the model’s pink hair.
The strongest look of the collection was worn by the pianist. A full length soft blue dress with a low-cut back and a cape was attention-grabbing. My favorite item was the embellished bracelet ring hybrid piece she wore while playing.
