Daily Diary: Let’s Talk About Community And Friendship
Last night, my partner Audrey and I hosted an event for Britax. The company launched their new Affinity Stroller (more on that in a bit — waiting on official photos from the photographer). We had an AMAZING TIME. It was such an incredible night. But something struck me during the event and I just had to write about it.
So many friends came in with warm embraces. One big hug after the other. Yes, we were hosting an event for Britax – but it was also a reunion of some sorts. A reason to get face to face with some really great people.
(Adam walked as well and is always there for us in our time of need)
During the event, we had a little fashion show (I’m spoiling the review I know!!), and we reached out to our community and asked our friends if they would walk. Every one of them said yes. And not only was it a “yes” but it was an “anything for you” yes. Knowing that you are part of a circle of friends like this is very powerful… and it didn’t escape me for one second. To say that we are lucky to be surrounded by such great people would be an understatement.
Even in the middle of a crisis – when one model was stuck in massive traffic and couldn’t make it – our friend Divina jumped right in. No questions asked. She walked right to the back of the room and got fitted for clothes she hadn’t seen before. Why? Because she is a true friend. All the bad press that this virtual world gets did not fit within the walls of this room. This blogging community that I am a part of is strong and loving and generous. SO generous. I was practically levitating last night because it was all so clear to me.
I have so many more photos that I want to share and of COURSE I am going to get into the nitty gritty of the strollers once I have better shots — but this post is just one big thank you to everyone who attended yesterday. Thank you for your friendship. Thank you for supporting Getting Gorgeous whenever you can. And thank you for being part of our lives.
