Spicy Lemon Garlic Shrimp Recipe – Filled With Flavor

This spicy lemon garlic shrimp recipe is a family favorite. My young daughter LOVES SHRIMP and I try to make her dishes like this as often as possible because she typically doesn’t eat fish.  But this one is a winner. Thankfully, my children aren’t afraid of a little kick. So, the zest and the bold spicy flavors that are combined in this dish are a match made in heaven for my family. I hope your little ones will enjoy it as well.  

You can combine pasta or rice with this spicy lemon garlic shrimp recipe – the choice is yours. Even a fresh salad will do! Serve it by itself as a wonderful app. There are enough delicious flavors to hold a course.

Spicy Lemon Garlic Shrimp Recipe

Spicy Lemon Garlic Shrimp Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Shrimp, peeled, deveined rinsed and patted dry
  • ¼ Cup Olive Oil
  • 1 Lemon, zested and juiced
  • ¼ Cup White Wine
  • ½ teas. Black Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • ¼ Red Onion, minced
  • 3 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • ¼ teas. Red Pepper Flake (makes mildly spicy, ½ – ¾ teas. for medium, 1+ for hot)
  • 2 Roma Tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • Salt
  • 2 Green Onions, sliced on the bias

Spicy Lemon Garlic Shrimp Recipe Instructions

  • In a resealable bag or container combine the Shrimp, Olive Oil, Lemon zest and juice, White Wine and Black Pepper. Seal and let marinate at least 30 minutes.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat melt the butter with the Red Pepper Flakes and cook Red Onion until soft and translucent.
  • Add the garlic and cook 1 minute.
  • Add the Shrimp and marinade to the skillet and cook until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
  • Remove the Shrimp with a slotted spoon to a bowl with the Tomatoes.
  • Reduce the liquid in the pan until it is thickened, 3-4 minutes.
  • Pour the thickened liquid over the Shrimp and Tomatoes and toss to coat, season with Salt and Pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot garnished with the Green Onion and a few Red Pepper Flakes.
