Set Sail With Disney Cruise Line And Marvel From NYC #DCLNYC

img_2255

Disney Cruise fans, I have such incredible news! You can now sail out of New York and spend a day at sea with your favorite Marvel characters on the Disney Magic. What?! Yes! I couldn’t believe when I heard the news because I have a family of 5 that simply cannot get enough of both Disney Cruises and Marvel movies. Talk about a match made in heaven.

A few days ago, I was invited to a press preview on board the Disney Magic while she was in between cruises and in Manhattan. We only had a few hours to experience the ship, but I had such an amazing time soaking it all up!

I have been on 3 separate Disney Cruises with my family and friends. It’s something we actually do every other year with some travel buddies in town. The women – without fail – always book a spa trip to Senses because NOTHING beats a massage while out to sea. It’s relaxing. It’s blissful. It’s all I can think about until it actually happens (and that’s why I typically book it for day 2 LOL). Senses has everything you would want from a spa – from facials and massages to teeth whitening and shellac for nails. You ask for it and odds are, the staff will be able to accommodate.

10 Things To Remember Before Taking A Disney Cruise

Gym lovers – don’t worry. You won’t be stranded while on this vacation. There are plenty of classes and equipment to keep your fitness goals on track.

I mean – look at that view for all treadmills and bikes. When I snapped this photo, it was pointing at the NYC skyline … but a few hours later, it was pointing at nothing but blue.

For Marvel lovers, I have to tell you all the fun surprises that the Magic will have for you and your kids. Occurring on one action-packed day during each of the seven Disney Magic sailings, guests will enjoy:

  • Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor and other Marvel Universe Super Heroes are onboard for scheduled meet-and-greets and photos.
  • A brand-new spectacular party fills the upper deck with music, dancing and games.
  • The deck party culminates in a stunning display of themed pyrotechnics, lighting, sound effects and the largest collection of Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains ever assembled on a cruise ship.
  • Kids and families summon their Marvel knowledge and enjoy friendly competition during trivia games, covering courageous heroes and fun facts from the Marvel Universe.
  • For young heroes-in-training, Marvel-themed games, activities and arts and crafts will be offered throughout the day in the Marvel’s Avengers Academy in the Oceaneer Club.

And don’t forget! There’s a movie theatre on the Disney Magic!! So while you are cruising, you can enjoy exclusive at-sea screenings of fan-favorite films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe including the newest theatrical releases, as well as viewings of the Disney XD shows: Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Marvel‘s Ultimate Spider-Man and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Marvel Day At Sea Dates:

Marvel Day at Sea will be on seven- and eight-night Disney Magic Bahamian cruises departing from New York on Oct. 6, 14, 28; Nov. 4, 11 and 18, 2017. All will include a stop at Disney’s private island Castaway Cay and Port Canaveral, Fla., with a day at the Walt Disney World Resort. Marvel Day at Sea will be on one seven-night Canadian Coast cruise departing from New York on Oct. 21, 2017, with stops at Charlottetown, Sydney and Halifax.

Now, let’s talk about the kids club. WE LOVE THE KIDS CLUB!! When I saw “we”, I mean ALL OF US – me and my 3-year-old , 9-year-old, 11-year-old and my husband. The kids BEG to visit and my husband and I don’t mind it when they do. It gives us some time to relax and enjoy the sound of absolutely nothing. Our children enjoy the chance to meet new friends in a super fun environment that is simply filled with adventure and excitmenet.

And if you are potty training, KNOW that they are equipped to handle this stage of life as well. I was so happy to see this seat hanging in the bathroom (and yes, I took a picture of it as I was touring).

Each room in the kids club is super fun and Disney themed to the extreme. Check out one of the sections in the Disney Magic. Each kids club has several stations for the children to enjoy. Be sure to watch my video above to see more about what this sections has to offer.

How can your child not enjoy an afternoon with friends in Andy’s room? LOL

Since we are right around Halloween, some of the boat had festive decorations which really added that perfect final touch. I love how Disney pays attention to every single detail!

And what Disney trip would be complete without a visit from Mickey himself?

For lunch, we headed to Animator’s Palace and everything was fantastic. I’ve actually never had a bad meal on one of the ships. Their food is hard to beat. I’ve cruised quite a bit over the last three years and the Disney Dining plan is top notch. You don’t realize how important food is until you are stranded at sea and forced to only eat what the cruise is providing you. Trust me – it’s IMPORTANT. Disney Cruises serve amazing food! The quality is unmatched.

To end our day, my group headed over to a martini lounge and took a mixology class. Again, this is something that the Disney Cruise offers its guests. You will find activities for children, for adults, for adults and children together. There truly is something for everyone on their ships.

I liked the characters in Disney. They always fascinated me. Even now when I have a mother, my hobby is also unchanged. I often watch Disney's cartoon with my kids. Disney Cruise - I wish I and my children can participate.

That's quite exciting especially if your child is a huge fan of the avengers! I love the play areas as well. The kids will definitely have the time of their lives here!
