The New Morning Tradition That’s Bringing My Family Together

Savor: Living Abundantly Where You Are, As You Are Cover

Two of my friends (Jessica and Jo-Lynne) recently told me that they start their days with morning devotions. It was intriguing – to say the least – because I’ve been looking for something… more out of it all.

The daily grind has been starting to do me in.

Don’t get me wrong. I love my hustle/my job / the things that keep me pushing forward, but I  started to acknowledge a whisper in the back of mind. I realized that priorities were shifting – and perhaps in the wrong direction. Every person needs someone to follow. I can’t be the leader in my own life – despite being the CEO of my business. I need Jesus. I need family. I need love.

Daily devotions seemed promising. Would this be what I needed to find my reset? I’m not so sure yet, but I will tell you this – I chose to not read these little excerpts alone. Instead, my entire family reads the pages together – one a day, every single day.

Savor: Living Abundantly Where You Are, As You Are is special. I don’t know how else to say it. It reminds me to look into the eyes of my children. It reminds me to be present. It reminds my children to do the same.

You read the current date and I can guarantee you that the page will relate to what is going on in your life. In December, the focus in on the chaos of the holidays and what that does to your mind and soul.

Slow down. Reconnect. Repeat.

Is it sad that I need to hear these things to actually do them? Maybe.

Am I happy that I acknowledge that I need guidance and am seeking it? Yes.

Will this book change my life? No.

But will small changes every single day eventually roll into a bigger impact on my life? You better believe it.

Something to think about if you feel like your hamster wheel is getting a little squeaky and your loud speaker is muffling His message as of late.
