YouTube Kids. That’s my family… two hams on a stick!

I received a box from YouTube to help celebrate their new #ReadAlong initiative and asked my mother and daughter to help out with spreading the word about the amazing program over the weekend. They were both VERY excited to get in front of the camera. It’s been a while since I’ve used this pair together. LOL!

YouTube Kids is asking families to #ReadAlong with them for the second year in a row. Some partners include National Geographic Kids, Roald Dahl, ChuChuTV and Everything’s Rosie! How fab! Nowadays, children are so focused on electronics and YouTube wanted to do their part in helping kids keep their interest in books. After all, a book can take you just about anywhere.

As we unboxed this package on video, I was so excited to see all the different options that we received as a family to enjoy! So many adventures are awaiting us!

When you sign into the app, you’ll see a dedicated “Reading Tab” featuring hundreds of pieces of reading-related content, including exclusive shows focused on early language literacy and guest picked playlists from Universal’s Despicable Me and NFL star, Martellus Bennett (launching for Father’s Day) encouraging kids to get out there and discover the magic of reading.

Some of the biggest global book publishers are participating in YouTube Kids’ global campaign ito help us make a big impact on the next generation of little readers—both helping them hone their reading skills as well as encouraging a lifelong passion for reading.
