Understanding teens’ determination and passion for change, Neutrogena, the #1 dermatologist-recommended skin care brand, is launching Wave for Change, a charitable campaign that makes it easy for people everywhere to not only give back, but to choose how Neutrogena will support communities in need.

This summer through August 23rd, Neutrogena will donate $1 for every Wave Sonic Power-Cleaner and Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit product sold, up to $200,000 to GlobalGiving. GlobalGiving, an organization that links donors to great causes, will then distribute the funds to environmental, educational and disaster relief charities.

Visit the Neutrogena Facebook Page [http://www.facebook.com/neutrogena] and take a customized quiz and determine what percentage of the funding will be donated to each cause.

To foster a spirit of goodwill and help make the world a brighter place, American Girl is introducing Shine On Now™ — a new charitable initiative that harnesses the collective power of girls to help others in need.

Through Shine On Now, American Girl is calling on girls across the country to help the company give $1 million in clothes, books, dolls, and money to the following four organizations: Kids in Distressed Situations, Save the Children U.S.A., National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions, and National Wildlife Federation.

Beginning July 13, 2010, girls can visit shineonnow.com to contribute a free ‘star’ to the effort. The goal is to collect one million stars by the end of the program on July 31, 2010. In addition, for every star a girl contributes (she can donate up to 100 each day!), her name will automatically be entered in a daily drawing to win a new My American Girl™ doll.

As part of the Shine On Now initiative and to further encourage girls to let their spirits shine, American Girl is also launching a brand-new virtual campus, Innerstar University™—a fun, safe online world where girls learn to be their best through a variety of games, quizzes, and other enriching activities that help boost their confidence and strength. Access to the new virtual world is free with each 18-inch My American GirI doll—the company’s newly enhanced contemporary product line that allows a girl to create a special doll as unique as she is.

Tulips & Pansies hosted a spectacular fashion show to benefit VillageCare. The show consisted of some of the greatest fashion designers collaborating with talented and creative flower designers.

Nothing was off limits; wild flowers, stuffed animals, balloons, and lit candles were seen on models’ heads.

The fashion show was judged by 5 fashionistas including Fern Mallis, the founder of New York’s Fashion Week and Kelly Bensimon, from The Real Housewives of New York. The winner was announced by the host James Aguiar, TV personality and style guru. Betsey Johnson’s collaboration with Preston Bailey (first photo) took the first and well deserved place. The beautiful swan like ensemble whisked us into a fairy tale.

The show was followed by silent auction with bid items on everything from retro sunglasses to NY Yankees tickets. All the proceeding went to VillageCare.

How cool! Three years ago a group of professionals in the arts and design community in New York City started a not for profit organization called Operation Design with one mission: It’s a necessity – not a luxury – for NYC students to find comfort and inspiration in their daily work and learning spaces.

Well, thanks to the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT Operation Design’s first ambitious fundraising project – a collection of iconic Eames Molded Plywood Chairs as “re-imagined” by 20 prominent graffiti and street artists including Billi Kid and Blanco – will be up for live auction to benefit Operation Design’s programming for 2010, beginning May 11th and ending on June 1st here.

To drive traffic to the auction, Barneys will display the one-of-a-kind limited edition collection in the windows of Barneys New York. What do you think about the designs?!
