I deserve this. No really, I do. Last night, after Natalie finished her little Barbie video, Liam wanted to make one of his own. We were filming for a while and then I made a funny little confession. I thought nothing of it until my two kids chimed in and agreed that I needed to step things up a bit.

I guess if it’s true… it’s true.

I know I should have corrected her homework… but how could I do such a thing? I thought it was hilarious that Natalie wants to be a Mom who is on Facebook as an adult.

Ok, Ok – she also wants to be a doctor. But the whole Facebook comment had me rolling!

Once a week, I update my iTunes music list. I don’t want to tell you how much I spend a year. With AMEX’s EOY statement, I actually KNOW the real number and it’s disgusting. Whatever – we all have our hobbies. Well, this morning I headed over to see what’s new and I saw that Maroon 5 came out with Payphone. Without QUESTION I downloaded it. I LOVE them.

I turned my volume up and hit play. I saw the work explicit (which I didn’t see when I downloaded from the iTunes’ main screen) but thought it would be minimal considering who the band was. Well, F bombs are not minimal. I was like… WHAT????

How old are we? Train isn’t some teeny bopper band. These are adults! I seriously was blind-sighted by it. Had to shut the song off and move on. Later on today, when I finish working, I will go back and purchase the clean version. But that’s an extra few dollars I have to pay.

Why isn’t the clean version the first option? You can see that I had no idea this song had explicits in it. Is there a setting that I am missing from Apple? iTunes should NOT have this curse version as default.

How fun is this?! Natalie asked me if she could do a video review for a new toy she just got. Barbie: Dolls of the World has several countries to choose from. Natalie is speaking about the China doll.

I started to take lessons a few weeks ago and am trying to learn ‘When I’m 64′ by the Beatles. I can’t transition from one chord to another as quickly as the song needs, but I am trying!! I had a few emails from friends and family asking for a video and I felt a little brave this evening. SO, here we are! AHHHHHH

My manicurist gave me a tip a few weeks ago that I’ve been meaning to get online – but I just haven’t had the time. Today is Tuesday which means I post a “Best of Beauty” story and thought this would be the perfect time to unveil her secret.

I hate it when my manicurist clips my cuticles. I finally asked her to not touch them and she said that my fingers were very dry and absolutely needed it. I was also told they wouldn’t look as bad if I just started to take care of them at home.

Um gee… thanks. But I get it – and I guess it’s true.

She first suggested that I run out and buy cuticle oil but then said olive oil works just as good.  So, I’ve been rubbing a bit whenever I remember and I have seen a difference. It’s amazing what typical household ingredients can do!

I loved Girl In Progress! It’s a heartwarming coming of age story starring Eva Mendes as a single parent and Cierra Ramirez as her teenage daughter. Eva Mendes plays a carefree mom who may just have a daughter that is more responsible than she is. She had her daughter when she was a teenager and seems to have never quite finished growing up. Girl In Progress tells the tale of a young girl, determined to grow up and struggling to find her place in the world.

I don’t want to give too much of the movie away if you haven’t seen it but Ansiedad, the role of the daughter, gets this idea that she needs to grow up and go through the stages of becoming a woman in a very systematic fashion. She lays out careful plans that include losing her virginity and dumping her best friend. What happens along the way is that she discovers it isn’t all it’s presented to be. She realizes that she still needs her mother in ways that her mother may or may not be ready for. What follows is a touching journey toward each other that requires sacrifice and a shifting of priorities.

Though Eva Mendes is the more famous actress, Cierra Ramirez steals the spotlight as a sharp, witty girl, who is determined to be different from her mother. She is so sure of herself whilst traveling through the teenage angst of discovering oneself. The juxtaposition won’t be lost on audiences. She is brilliant in her role and her performance transitions seamlessly through teenage dramas and real-life issues.

Girl In Progress is a must-see for ages 13 and above. Teenagers will relate to it and adults will be reminded of those trying teen years. The movie is rated PG-13 and is in theaters, now. Check out the trailer below.

There I was… heads down at my desk … and all of a sudden my daughter comes in and starts going WILD with ribbon. She started screaming and singing and jumping and dancing. It came out of nowhere. Oh how I wish I had those bursts of energy. I’m lucky if I make it to lunch without a nap these days!! LOL

Mid-song I decided to film her and she let me (which is shocking as of late). Thought I’d share because she really put a lot of effort into this one.
