Tara Parker-Poke from The New York Times is reporting that a drink a day can keep the pounds away. In a recent study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, women who didn’t drink gained on average 6 pounds more than those who did. The risk of becoming overweight was almost 30 percent lower for women who consumed one or two alcohol beverages a day, compared with nondrinkers.

Just in case you want to toast the news with your husband – just want you to know the findings were not supported when tested on men.
