Day 4 of Our Virginia Trip: Yankee Candles And Water Fun

Since yesterday was supposed to thunderstorm (it didn’t), we opted for Busch Gardens once again. We figured if the day got ruined by some rain, it wouldn’t really matter considering we’ve already seen the park.

But this time we brought the kids’ bathing suits! They were so HAPPY running around in Sesame Street’s Water Park area. Natalie instantly made some friends and they play tag for a good 20 minutes. Liam hung out with the little ones and played with the sprinklers.

After a few hours, we got them dressed into their regular clothing and hit the rides once again.

This time we didn’t stay all day. We walked around until about dinner and then called it a night. At that point, the kids and I were walking in slow motion. I was looking at their stroller trying to figure out a way how we could all fit. We couldn’t.

A reader mentioned to me on Facebook that the Yankee Candle Shop was a fun place to visit with the kids. I figured it would be a nice way to round out our day. We spent a few hours exploring the many rooms. If I wasn’t taking a plane home I would have done SERIOUS DAMAGE in that store. I LOVE just about everything they sold!  Candles, home goods, and CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS  – OH MY!

First stop was candle dipping. The kids each selected an ornament and got to choose what colors they wanted to make it. These can’t be burned – but they can be used on our Xmas tree.

The only problem we had was keeping the kids away from the Toy Store and the Dylan’s Candy Bar. We would blink and they would run back into that area not grasping the fact that we weren’t buying anything. Eventually we had to leave because they were borderline manic.

But not before we stocked up on fudge and gourmet popcorn. Thank goodness we are walking around all day pushing two kids in a heavy stroller.  It sort of evens out all the FOOD we are consuming.

This morning Bill is running out to Starbucks to grab our breakfast because I told him I cannot have another MASSIVE breakfast like we’ve been eating every single morning. I cannot LOOK at a pancake today. 🙂

Looks like a cool trip! You got in a good amount of the fun tourist attractions in Virginia. Fairfax Virginia has a lot of fun stuff going on too.
